About Glenfarclas Distillery
The distillery is one of the few remaining family owned operations in Scotland, with the firm passing through six generations of the Grant family who have owned it since 1865. The current capacity is around three million litres of spirit per annum and its water source is the Green Glen from the imposing Ben Rinnes which overlooks the distillery.
Glenfarclas, which means ‘Valley of the Green Grass’ has six very large stills (some of the biggest in Scotland) and the whisky is stored in traditional dunnage warehouses on site.
